4 navi più 2 in opzione grazie ad un progetto di nuova concezione
Trieste, 16 febbraio 2017 – Fincantieri ha ricevuto dal gruppo Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. un ordine per la realizzazione di 4 navi da crociera di nuova concezione, con l’opzione per ulteriori 2 unità, destinate al brand Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). Le unità hanno un valore di circa 800 milioni di euro ciascuna e saranno consegnate a un anno l’una dall’altra a partire dal 2022 fino al 2025, e in caso di esercizio dell’opzione fino al 2027.
Determinante per il buon fine della commessa e per la scelta da parte dell’armatore è stato l’apporto di Cdp e di Sace, insieme a quello degli altri soggetti dell’export credit, che ha permesso a Fincantieri di proporre un pacchetto tecnico-commerciale e finanziario attraente, peraltro soggetto ad alcune condizioni.
Con circa 140.000 tonnellate di stazza lorda, quasi 300 metri di lunghezza e una capacità di ospitare 3.300 passeggeri, queste unità costituiranno la spina dorsale della flotta del futuro di NCL.
L’ordine si basa su un progetto prototipale sviluppato da Fincantieri che valorizza le caratteristiche consolidate di libertà e flessibilità di NCL con una configurazione di prodotto innovativa, in grado di arricchire ulteriormente l’esperienza offerta ai passeggeri. Inoltre, particolare attenzione è stata posta all’efficienza energetica, con il duplice obiettivo di contenere i consumi in esercizio e minimizzare l’impatto ambientale, in linea con le più recenti normative in materia.
“Questa nuova classe di navi confermerà la tradizione di introdurre innovazioni significative nell’industria crocieristica propria del brand Norwegian Cruise Line” ha dichiarato Frank Del Rio, Presidente e CEO di Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. “Questo ordine rimarca il nostro programma per le nuove costruzioni, aumenta e rafforza il nostro profilo di crescita, già significativo e prospetta un ritorno nel lungo periodo per i nostri azionisti”.
Commentando l’annuncio l’Amministratore delegato di Fincantieri Giuseppe Bono, ha dichiarato: “Questo risultato eccezionale ci permette di annoverare un nuovo prestigioso brand nel nostro portafoglio clienti, a conferma della capacità di Fincantieri di sviluppare in modo flessibile soluzioni all’avanguardia al servizio di ogni segmento ed esigenza della crocieristica moderna. Siamo molto orgogliosi del progetto per queste navi: lo abbiamo messo a punto al nostro interno e presentato all’armatore, che lo ha apprezzato al punto tale da ordinarne una classe intera”. Bono poi ha concluso: “Al raggiungimento di questo obiettivo hanno contribuito in maniera determinante diversi attori della filiera dell’export, ai quali va il nostro riconoscimento. A questi fattori, tutti fondamentali, ovviamente va aggiunto il valore di un ordine di tale portata, del quale il Gruppo beneficerà in termini economici e di carico di lavoro, prolungando ulteriormente l’orizzonte occupazionale dei nostri cantieri, che non è comparabile con nessun altro settore industriale. Infine, siamo anche fieri di dare un contributo sostanziale alla crescita economica del nostro Paese che, come tutti sappiamo, richiede uno sforzo corale per recuperare le proprie quote sul mercato mondiale”.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings è fra i primi gruppi crocieristici al mondo. Ne fanno parte, oltre a NCL, i brand Regent Seven Seas Cruises, per il quale Fincantieri ha consegnato a Sestri Ponente (Genova) l’unità extra-lusso “Seven Seas Explorer” nel 2016 e sta ora realizzando un’unità gemella con consegna prevista nel 2020 ad Ancona, e Oceania Cruises, per cui il gruppo ha costruito “Marina” e “Riviera” rispettivamente nel 2011 e nel 2012 presso il cantiere di Sestri.

FINCANTIERI: A NEW CLASS OF SHIPS FOR NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE
4 new ships with option for additional 2 thanks to a new generation project
Trieste, February 16, 2017 – Fincantieri was awarded an order from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. for the construction of 4 new generation cruise ships with an option for additional 2, for the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) brand. The value of each ship is approximately 800 million euros, with one delivery per year from 2022 to 2025, stretching to 2027 in case of confirmation of the option.
Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and Sace, together with a pool of export credit lenders, have played a crucial role for the success of the order and the ship owner’s decision, giving Fincantieri the chance to offer an appealing technical, commercial and financial package, still subject to some conditions.
These ships will form the backbone of the future NCL fleet, being about 140,000-tons, almost 300 meters long, and accommodating 3,300 guests. The order is based on a prototype project developed by Fincantieri, which enhances the consolidated features of NCL’s signature offering of freedom and flexibility, qualified by an innovative configuration for an enhanced passenger experience. In addition, focus was set on energy efficiency, with the twofold aim of optimizing consumption at sea and reducing environmental impact, compliant with all the most recent regulations on this matter.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is one of the top cruise companies in the world. Besides NCL, it operates the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand, to which Fincantieri has delivered in Sestri Ponente (Genoa) the ultra-luxury ship “Seven Seas Explorer” in 2016 and is now building a sister ship with delivery expected in 2020 in Ancona, as well as Oceania Cruises, for which the group has built in the yard of Sestri “Marina” and “Riviera”, respectively in 2011 and 2012.
