Delegazione aziendale a Sydney a sostegno della gara per il programma SEA 5000
Trieste, 21 febbraio 2017 – Il Presidente e l’Amministratore delegato di Fincantieri, Giampiero Massolo e Giuseppe Bono, accompagnati dal Direttore Generale, Alberto Maestrini, sono stati impegnati a Sydney in una serie di incontri istituzionali ad altissimo livello.
La missione industriale si inquadra nella partecipazione di Fincantieri all’interno del programma Future Frigates – SEA 5000, che la vede preselezionata per la costruzione di 9 fregate di futura generazione per la Royal Australian Navy (RAN), del valore di circa 35 miliardi di dollari australiani, uno dei più importanti programmi al mondo nel settore delle navi militari di superficie, per il quale Fincantieri è pronta a mettere al servizio del governo australiano e della sua Marina, le proprie capacità attraverso il trasferimento di tecnologia.
Per rafforzare maggiormente il presidio in loco è stata istituita a fine 2016 Fincantieri Australia con sede a Canberra, impegnata al fianco del governo, delle principali società del Paese attive nel comparto della cantieristica, dell’indotto, nell’ambito del programma delle fregate che saranno realizzate ad Adelaide con un notevole incremento anche dei livelli occupazionali.
Fincantieri partecipa alla gara forte del modello delle proprie fregate FREMM, in servizio per la Marina Militare. A Sydney si trova anche nave “Carabiniere”, quinta di 10 fregate, consegnata da Fincantieri alla Marina Italiana nel 2015, impegnata in Australia dall’inizio dell’anno in una compagna navale di addestramento congiunta con la RAN.
Con questa missione si è voluto presentare in loco un prodotto assolutamente all’avanguardia e dimostrare il totale impegno di Fincantieri nel programma SEA 5000.
Quella di Sydney è la terza tappa in Australia di nave “Carabiniere”, dopo quelle di Fremantle e Adelaide. Prima del suo ritorno in Italia, l’unità sosterrà anche a Melbourne. Parallelamente alla presenza della fregata in Australia, Fincantieri ha organizzato in ogni porto toccato dalla nave una serie di incontri con le aziende locali per esplorare potenziali e future collaborazioni.

FINCANTIERI’S COMMITMENT TO GROW IN AUSTRALIA
A company delegation in Sydney to support the tender for the SEA 5000 programme
Trieste, February 21, 2017 – TheChairman and CEO of Fincantieri, Giampiero Massolo and Giuseppe Bono, together with the General Manager, Alberto Maestrini, took part in a series of high level institutional meetings in Sydney.
The industrial mission comes under Fincantieri’s participation in the Future Frigates – SEA 5000 programme, for which the company has been shortlisted to deliver nine future generation frigates for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Worth at around $35 billion, this program is one of the most important naval surface shipbuilding projects in the world, in which Fincantieri is ready to put its capabilities through transfer of technology at the service of the Australian Government and its Navy.
In order to further strengthen its on-site presence, at the end of 2016 Fincantieri Australia, was established and headquartered in Canberra, to work with the Government, the main businesses involved in the Australian shipbuilding industry and the supply chain, within the programme of the frigates, to be built in Adelaide, with a significant increase also in employment levels.
Fincantieri participates in the bid, building on the success of its FREMM Frigate model, in service for the Italian Navy. ITS “Carabiniere”, the fifth of ten frigates, delivered by Fincantieri in 2015 to the Italian Navy, is in Sydney, too. As of the beginning of 2017 the frigate is being engaged in a naval campaign and joint training activities with the Royal Australian Navy.
This mission aim is to present on-site an absolutely cutting-edge product and show Fincantieri’s total commitment in the SEA 5000programme.
Sydney is the third stopover of “Carabiniere” in Australia, after Fremantle and Adelaide. Before her return to Italy, the unit will also visit Melbourne. In parallel with the frigate’s presence in Australia, Fincantieri held a series of meetings in the ports where “Carabiniere” stopped, with local businesses to explore potential future partnerships.
