Bruxelles, 1 marzo 2017 – Il 28 febbraio a Bruxelles, nell’ambito della European Shipping Week che quest’anno ha come tema centrale le nuove generazioni, il Gruppo Giovani Armatori di Confitarma ha organizzato presso la sede dell’Ecsa, un incontro con giovani armatori provenienti dalle altre associazioni armatoriali europee per lanciare l’idea di creare un Gruppo Giovani Armatori Europei.
“Scopo della nostra iniziativa – spiega Andrea Garolla di Bard, Presidente del Gruppo Giovani Armatori di Confitarma – è quello di creare tra le giovani generazioni delle imprese armatoriali europee un gruppo informale che possa riunirsi periodicamente per discutere dei problemi dello shipping, per poter condividere “best practices” ed esperienze professionali”.
Rispetto ad altri gruppi simili già esistenti a livello europeo e internazionale vorremmo limitare la partecipazione ai soli rappresentanti dell’armamento oppure ai membri delle associazioni armatoriali europee.
“In un mondo sempre più connesso a tutti i livelli in cui la comunicazione si basa sempre più sull’utilizzo delle nuove tecnologie – ha aggiunto Andrea Garolla di Bard - i giovani armatori che in un prossimo futuro saranno a capo delle imprese armatoriali, ma che già oggi ricoprono incarichi operativi e di responsabilità possono contribuire a migliorare le perfomance della propria azienda anche instaurando sinergie e collaborazioni con altre imprese armatoriali.
“Personalmente ho riscontrato che il Gruppo Giovani Armatori ha contribuito ad incrementare le relazioni tra i propri membri e tra le rispettive aziende accrescendo anche la capacità di fare business e promuovere la circolazione di idee. Ritengo quindi che questo modello possa funzionare anche ampliandone la portata a livello europeo”.
Al termine dell’incontro, Andrea Garolla di Bard ha partecipato al Board dell’ECSA per illustrare il progetto di un Gruppo Giovani Armatori Europei sottolineando che il networking delle giovani generazioni di armatori europei, non potrà che portare un contributo positivo allo sviluppo dello shipping europeo.

The issue of next generations is central to this year European Shipping Week (ESW). In this regard, the Italian Young Shipowners’Group of CONFITARMA organized a meeting on Tuesday 28 February 2017, in ECSA’s premises, aiming at gathering young shipowners from all national EU Shipowners ‘associations.
Andrea Garolladi Bard, President of the Italian Young Shipowners’Group of CONFITARMA said:
“The purpose of this initiative is to create an informal group of discussion on shipping issues among the next generations from all Europe, sharing “best practices” and professional experiences. Different from other existing events at international level, the idea is to create a “young” forum that could meet periodically focusing on maritime issues from a shipowning perspective only.
“In a world always more connected where communication is increasingly based on the use of new technologies – the young shipowners that in the near future will be in charge of the shipping companies, but already are covering operational tasks and responsibilities, can help improve the performance of their company including instituting synergies and partnerships with other shipping companies”.
“Personally, I have found that the Young Shipowners’ Group has contributed to increase the relationships between its members and between their companies also increasing the capacity to do business and promote the circulation of ideas. I therefore believe that this model could also work at European level “.
After the meeting, the project of a Young European Shipowners Group was illustrated to the Board of ECSA. Andrea Garolla di Bard underlined that the networking of the younger generation of European shipowners could bring a positive contribution to the development of European shipping.
