La nuova piattaforma per lo sviluppo delle applicazioni di automazione navale rappresenta lo “stato dell’arte” della tecnologia in termini di Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Abu Dhabi, 2 marzo 2017 – Nel corso del salone IDEX-NAVDEX di Abu Dhabi, una delle più importanti fiere mondiali dedicate al settore della Difesa e Sicurezza, Seastema ha presentato la piattaforma SW MPEV, una tecnologia pensata e sviluppata per rispondere agli elevati requisiti richiesti dalla “Legge Navale” –per il piano di rinnovamento della flotta della Marina Militare – e che sarà installata sulla prima Nave LSS.
Le revisioni di progetto e delle fasi di test attualmente in corso sono seguite con la stretta collaborazione della Marina Militare Italiana che ha validato le soluzioni tecniche adottate e che ha espresso piena soddisfazione e apprezzamento.

Le principali caratteristiche della nuova piattaforma MPEV, che sostituisce quella utilizzata in precedenza sulle fregate FREMM, prevedono:
- realizzazione su OS MS Windows 10, compatibile anche conWindows 7;
- funzionalità multitouch simili a quelle utilizzate sugli Smartphone (gesture, pinch to zoom, panning);
- zoom delle pagine video, con mantenimento delle proprietà dinamiche degli oggetti (utile per rappresentare impianti distribuiti come sentine, impianti acque, carburante ecc.);
- grafica smart con pieno utilizzo della più recente e performante libreria grafica WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation);
- architettura impostabile come Client/Server o Multimaster;
- aumentate performance in termini di tempi di risposta comando- Risposta su Monitor;
- software più leggero che in configurazione Multimaster non richiede l’utilizzo di macchine server dedicate;
- potenziamento della funzionalità di auto-diagnostica che riesce ad evidenziare dettagli sul funzionamento dei singoli componenti quali temperature computer, usura dischi allo stato solido, funzionamento singole porte degli Switch di Rete;
- modulo LAM (Login and Application Manager) per la semplice integrazione di pacchetti terzi;
- implementazione di un primo livello di Cyber security inclusa nel pacchetto. Possibilità per ulteriori sviluppi di questo aspetto sia con moduli proprietari che di terzi.
Essendo la piattaforma interamente sviluppata in Seastema con tecnologia proprietaria saranno numerosi i vantaggi per i clienti, in particolare:
- possibilità di soddisfare requisiti specifici del cliente non presenti nei pacchetti standard;
- maggiori possibilità di sviluppo applicazioni in collaborazione con System Integrator terzi;
- maggior supporto per la manutenzione durante il ciclo vita della Nave;
- rapidità negli aggiornamenti tecnologici e nella risoluzione di malfunzionamenti;
- focus sugli sviluppi futuri del prodotto secondo le esigenze dei segmenti di riferimento.

SEASTEMA PRESENTED SOFTWARE MARINE PORTAL EVOLUTION (MPEV) AT IDEX2017
The new platform for the development of naval automation applications represents the state-of-the-art technology in terms of Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Seastema presented the new platform SW MPEV, a technology conceived and developed as a response to the high quality requirements of the Italian “Defence Act” – for the renewal plan of the Italian Navy’s fleet during IDEX-NAVDEX, one of the world’s most important defence and security exhibitions held in Abu Dhabi. The platform will be installed on the first LSS (Logistic Support Ship) ship.
The design reviews and testing phases, currently ongoing, are carried out in close cooperation with the Italian Navy , that validated the technical solutions, expressing satisfaction and appreciation.

The main features of the new MPEV platform, which replaces the one previously used on the FREMM frigates, foresee:
- Development on MS Windows 10 OS, also compatible with Windows 7;
- Multi-touch functionalities, similar to those used on smartphones (gesture, pinch to zoom, panning);
- Video pages Zoom with maintenance of the dynamic properties of objects (useful for representing distributed systems such as bilge, water, fuel systems etc.);
- Smart graphics with full use of the latest, high-performance graphics library WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation);
- Architecture can be set as Client/Server or Multi-master;
- Increased performance in terms of times command response – monitor response;
- Lighter software which does not require the use of dedicated server machines in multi-master configuration;
- Self-diagnostic feature enhancement of the software which highlights details on operation of single components such as computers temperatures, wear solid-state disks, operation of each port of the Network Switch;
- The LAM (Login and Application Manager) Module allows easy integration of third party packages;
- First level of cyber security included in the package. MPEV allows also further development with both proprietary and third modules.
The platform has the following several advantages for customers, being entirely developed in Seastema with proprietary technology:
- Ability to meet specific customer requirements not present in standard packages;
- Higher chance of applications developing in collaboration with third parties System Integrator;
- Higher maintenance support during the life cycle of the ship;
- Rapidity in technological upgrades and the resolution of malfunctions;
- Focus on future development of the product according to the needs of key segments.
