Princess Cruises la destinerà al mercato cinese
Trieste, 30 marzo 2017 – Alla presenza del Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri Paolo Gentiloni si è svolta oggi presso lo stabilimento Fincantieri di Monfalcone la cerimonia di consegna di “Majestic Princess”, la terza unità della classe Royal Princess, costruita da Fincantieri per la società armatrice Princess Cruises, brand del gruppo Carnival Corporation, primo operatore al mondo del settore crocieristico.
Alla cerimonia sono intervenuti, fra gli altri, il Presidente della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, mentre per la società armatrice erano presenti Micky Arison, Chairman diCarnival Corporation,Arnold Donald, CEO di Carnival Corporation, Stein Kruse, CEO di Holland America Group e Jan Swartz, Group President di Princess Cruises e Carnival Australia. Fincantieri era rappresentata dal Presidente Giampiero Massolo e dall’Amministratore delegato Giuseppe Bono.
Realizzata sulla base del progetto delle gemelle “Royal Princess” e “Regal Princess”, costruite e consegnate sempre dallo stabilimento di Monfalcone rispettivamente nel 2013 e 2014, inaugurando una nuova generazione di navi che hanno riscontrato un enorme successo tra il pubblico dei crocieristi, la nuova unità, che è la più grande nave da crociera mai realizzata in Italia, ha una stazza lorda di 145.000 tonnellate e potrà ospitare a bordo 4.250 passeggeri in 1.780 cabine, e 1.350 membri dell’equipaggio. “Majestic Princess”, che batte la bandiera di Bermuda, è caratterizzata da una nuova livrea con il logo storico di Princess Cruises dipinto su entrambe le fiancate a prua della nave e dalla scritta in ideogrammi cinesi “Shèng Shì Gng Zh Haò”, che significa “Grande Spirito”. Si tratta della prima nave progettata e costruita da Fincantieri specificatamente per il mercato cinese: a bordo, infatti, sono state create aree ad hoc per i gusti e le abitudini dei passeggeri cinesi con l’allestimento di nuovi spazi di intrattenimento come le sale karaoke e ristoranti dedicati a diversi tipi di cucina con una vasta scelta culinaria.
La nave, al pari di quelle della stessa classe che l’hanno preceduta, rappresenta un nuovo punto di riferimento tecnologico a livello europeo e mondiale per il lay-out innovativo, le elevatissime performance e l’alta qualità di soluzioni tecniche d’avanguardia ed è la migliore prova che innovazione e cura del rapporto con il cliente sono leve imprescindibili per affermare la propria leadership sul mercato e consolidare ulteriormente la storica partnership di Fincantieri con il Gruppo Carnival, primo operatore al mondo del settore crocieristico.
Dal 1990 ad oggi Fincantieri ha costruito 77 navi da crociera (di cui ben 54 dal 2002), altre 30 unità sono in costruzione o di prossima realizzazione negli stabilimenti del gruppo.

Princess Cruises will deploy the ship on the Chinese market
Trieste, March 30, 2017 – “Majestic Princess”, the third Royal Princess class unit built by Fincantieri for the shipowner Princess Cruises, a brand of the Carnival Group, the world’s largest cruise ship operator, was delivered todayat the Monfalcone shipyardin the presence of the Italian Prime Minister, Paolo Gentiloni.
The ceremony was attended by thePresident of the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Debora Serracchiani, for the ship owner by Micky Arison, Chairman of Carnival Corporation, Arnold Donald, CEO of Carnival Corporation, Stein Kruse, CEO of Holland AmericaGroup, and Jan Swartz, Group President of Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia. Fincantieri was represented by Giampiero Massolo, Chairman and Giuseppe Bono, CEO.
Built on the basis of the successful project of the “Royal Princess” and “Regal Princess” sister ships, realized and delivered in the same shipyard of Monfalcone respectively in 2013 and 2014 and introducing a new generation of ships so well-received by the cruise passengers, the new 145,000 gross tons unit, which also is the largest ship ever built in Italy, is be able to accommodate 4,250 passengers on board in 1,780 cabins and 1,350 members of the crew. “Majestic Princess”, which flies the Bermuda flag, features a new livery with Princess Cruises historic logo painted on both sides on the bow of the ship and Chinese ideograms “Shèng Shì Gng Zh Haò”, meaning “Grand Spirit”. It is the first ship specifically designed and built by Fincantieri for the Chinese market: in fact, a number of new venues have been created on board, like karaoke rooms and restaurants dedicated to different kinds of food with a wide array of culinary choices, expressly tailored for the Chinese passenger’s tastes and habits.
The vessel, as its sister ships, represents a new technological benchmark in Europe and worldwide for its innovative layout, outstanding performances and top quality of its state-of-the-art technology. It is the best proof that innovation and customer care are fundamental levers to re-affirm its market leadership and further consolidate Fincantieri’s historic partnership with the Carnival Group, the world’s largest cruise ship operator.
Fincantieri has built 77 cruise ships since 1990 (of which 54 from 2002), and other 30 ships are currently being designed or built in the Group’s yards.
