Milano, 12 luglio 2018 – Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: NCLH), (insieme a NCL Corporation Ltd., “Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings”, “Norwegian” o la “Compagnia”) ha confermato oggi l’opzione, precedentemente annunciata, per la costruzione della quinta e della sesta nave di Classe Project Leonardo con Fincantieri S.p.A. per conto del brand Norwegian Cruise Line, la cui consegna è prevista nel 2026 e nel 2027.
“Questi ordini estendono il nostro programma di nuove costruzioni e la nostra forte crescita”, dichiara Frank Del Rio, presidente e chief executive officer di Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “La nostra flotta di sei navi di Classe Leonardo ci consentirà di estendere il dispiegamento delle nostre navi in nuove destinazioni e in quelle già consolidate e di offrire nuove esperienze ai nostri ospiti”.
Con 140.000 tonnellate di stazza lorda e una capacità di circa 3.300 ospiti, questa classe di navi di prossima generazione sarà costruita basandosi sul concept di libertà e flessibilità che gli ospiti trovano a bordo della flotta Norwegian Cruise Line, anche sulle più recenti navi di Classe Breakaway Plus, e presenterà elementi innovativi che aumenteranno ulteriormente l’esperienza degli ospiti. Una delle priorità del design del prototipo è l’efficienza energetica,perseguendo l’obiettivo di ottimizzare il consumo di carburante e ridurre l’impatto sull’ambiente.Inoltre, il minor impatto ambientalle amplierà le opportunità di dispiegamento in tutto il mondo. I dettagli sui numerosi servizi innovativi destinati gli ospiti e a coloro che effettuano una crociera per la prima volta saranno annunciati prossimamente.
Con l’annuncio odierno, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ha confermato l’ordine per la costruzione di sette navi per il brand Norwegian Cruise Line e una per Regent Seven Seas Cruises, per un totale di otto unità, che saranno consegnate entro il 2027. La Compagnia prenderà in consegna la sua prossima nave, la Norwegian Encore, nell’autunno del 2019.

NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE CONFIRMS 2 ADDITIONAL “LEONARDO”-CLASS SHIPS
Trieste, July 12, 2018 – The US group Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. has confirmed to Fincantieri the orders for the construction of the fifth and the sixth unit of the “Leonardo” series, a class of new-concept cruise ships for the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) brand with deliveries scheduled in 2026 and 2027. The option was included in the agreement signed in February 2017 for the construction of the first 4 units.
These ships will form the backbone of the future NCL fleet, being about 140,000-tons, almost 300 meters long, and accommodating 3,300 guests. The class is based on a prototype project developed by Fincantieri, which enhances the consolidated features of NCL’s signature offering of freedom and flexibility, qualified by an innovative configuration for an enhanced passenger experience. In addition, focus was set on energy efficiency, with the twofold aim of optimizing consumption at sea and reducing environmental impact, compliant with all the most recent regulations on this matter.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is one of the top cruise companies in the world. Besides NCL, it operates the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand, to which Fincantieri has delivered in Sestri Ponente (Genoa) the ultra-luxury ship “Seven Seas Explorer” in 2016 and is now building a sister ship with delivery expected in 2020 in Ancona, as well as Oceania Cruises, for which the group has built in the yard of Sestri “Marina” and “Riviera”, respectively in 2011 and 2012.
