Trieste, 2 dicembre 2016 – Si è svolta oggi presso lo stabilimento di Sestri Ponente, alla presenza del Ministro della Difesa sen. Roberta Pinotti, la cerimonia di impostazione in bacino di “Seabourn Ovation”, la seconda di due navi da crociera extra-lusso che Fincantieri realizzerà per la società armatrice Seabourn Cruise Line, brand di Carnival Corporation. L’unità gemella, “Seabourn Encore”, è stata consegnata proprio questa settimana nel cantiere di Marghera.
Alla cerimonia erano presenti, tra gli altri, per la società armatrice il comandanteStig Betten, mentre per Fincantieri ha presenziato il Direttore GeneraleAlberto Maestrini.
“Seabourn Ovation”, che entrerà a far parte della flotta di Seabourn nella primavera del 2018, sarà caratterizzata da un design moderno e innovativo e messa a punto secondo le caratteristiche e le soluzioni tecniche d’avanguardia che fanno di Seabourn uno fra i brand di maggior prestigio nel segmento extra-lusso e con essa continuerà l’ammodernamento della flotta cominciato nel 2009.
L’unità avrà 40.350 tonnellate di stazza lorda, sarà lunga circa 210 metri, larga 28 e potrà raggiungere i 18,6 nodi di velocità di crociera. Potrà inoltre ospitare a bordo appena 600 passeggeri, in spaziose suite doppie tutte dotate di balcone privato.

Il progetto di “Seabourn Ovation”, come quello della sua unità gemella, è particolarmente innovativo in quanto orientato all’ottimizzazione dell’efficienza energetica e al minimo impatto ambientale, e nella costruzione verranno adottate tecnologie avanzate con standard che superano le richieste delle normative di riferimento.
Fincantieri ha costruito dal 1990 ad oggi 75 navi da crociera, 62 delle quali per i diversi brand di Carnival, mentre altre 26 unità sono in costruzione o di prossima realizzazione negli stabilimenti del gruppo, di cui 9 per società armatrici del gruppo statunitense.

FINCANTIERI: DRY DOCK WORKS START IN SESTRI PONENTE ON “SEABOURN OVATION”
Trieste, December 2, 2016 – The keel laying ceremony of “Seabourn Ovation“, the second of two ultra-luxury cruise ships that Fincantieri is building for Seabourn Cruise Line, brand of Carnival Corporation, took place today, in the presence of the ItalianMinister of Defence Roberta Pinotti, at the Sestri Ponente (Genoa) shipyard.
The ceremony was attended, among others, for the ship owner by Captain Stig Betten, while Fincantieri was represented by the General Manager Alberto Maestrini.
“Seabourn Ovation”, due to join the Seabourn fleet in spring 2018, will feature modern design elements and innovations and will be built according to the standards and cutting-edge technical solutions that make Seabourn one of the most prestigious brands in the ultra-luxury segment, continuing the fleet modernization started in 2009.
The ship will be 40,350 gross tons, 210 metres long and 28 metres wide and will be able to reach a cruising speed of 18.6 knots. It will carry up to just 600 guests, based on double occupancy. Every suite will feature a private veranda.
“Seabourn Ovation”, as its sister ship, is a particularly innovative project, focused on energy optimisation and minimum environmental impact. The ship will be built using the very latest technologies, whose standards exceed the requirements of the relevant regulation.
Fincantieri has built 75 cruise ships from 1990 to today, 62 of which for Carnival’s different brands, while other 26 are currently being designed or built in the Group’s yards and 9 of these are for the shipowners of the American group.
