Trieste, 21 dicembre 2017 – Nell’ambito della strategia di sviluppo del business in medio Oriente, Fincantieri ha costituito a Doha Fincantieri Services Middle East, controllata al 100% con licenza da parte del Qatar Financial Centre, che sarà il fulcro di tutte le attività di servizi e di post vendita sulle navi militari del Gruppo nel Paese.
La società, già completamente operativa, ha sottoscritto gli accordi in loco previsti dal contratto del 2016 per la fornitura alle Forze Navali dell’Emirato del Qatar di sette navi di superficie e dei relativi servizi di supporto. Tali accordi avranno l’effetto di supportare e sviluppare l’intero tessuto industriale dei servizi associati ai settori della navalmeccanica e della Difesa in Qatar.
Fincantieri Services Middle East, è una management company e sarà impegnata nella gestione di un’ampia gamma di servizi, sia per la piattaforma che per il sistema di combattimento, in particolare per quelli legati alla gestione del ciclo vita delle unità. Fornirà sia servizi logistici, tipicamente sviluppati durante la progettazione e costruzione dell’unità navale e che comprendono attività di training, corsi di lingua, boarding e lodging, sia servizi finalizzati ai supporti manutentivi, che saranno espletati nella fase successiva alla consegna durante l’esercizio della nave.
La costituzione di Fincantieri Services Middle East nella capitale qatariota fa seguito all’importante contratto firmato da Fincantieri nel giugno del 2016 con il Ministero della Difesa del Qatar, del valore di quasi 4 miliardi di euro, per la fornitura di sette navi di superficie, di cui quattro corvette della lunghezza di oltre 100 metri, una nave anfibia (LPD – Landing Platform Dock) e due pattugliatori (OPV – Offshore Patrol Vessel) e dei servizi di supporto in Qatar per ulteriori 10 anni dopo la consegna delle unità.
Tutte le unità verranno interamente costruite nei cantieri italiani del Gruppo a partire dal 2018, assicurando diversi anni di lavoro e una ricaduta importante sulle principali società della difesa italiane.

FINCANTIERI SERVICES MIDDLE EAST ESTABLISHED IN QATAR
The company’s activities will promote the development of local businesses
Trieste, December 21, 2017 – As part of its business development strategy in the Middle East, Fincantieri has established Fincantieri Services Middle East in Doha (Qatar), a wholly owned subsidiary licensed by the Qatar Financial Centre, which will be the focal point of all the services and after sales activities on the naval vessels of the Group in the country.
The company, already operational, has entered into local agreements provided by the 2016 contract for the supply to the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces of seven surface vessels and the related support services. These agreements will support and promote the entire shipbuilding and defense services industry in Qatar.
Fincantieri Services Middle East is a management company and will be engaged in a wide range of services for both the platform and the combat system, and will be particularly focused on the life cycle management of the vessels. It will supply both integrated logistic support, typically developed during design and construction of the ships, including training activities, language courses, boarding and lodging, and in service support, dedicated to maintenance and developed after delivery and during operation of the vessel.
The establishment of Fincantieri Services Middle East in Qatar’s capital city follows the important contract signed by Fincantieri with the Qatari Ministry of Defence in June 2016, for a value of almost 4 billion euros, for the construction of seven surface vessels, of which four corvettes of over 100 meters in length, one amphibious vessel (LPD – Landing Platform Dock), and two patrol vessels (OPV – Offshore Patrol Vessel), as well as support services in Qatar for an additional 10 years after delivery of the vessels.
All the units will be entirely built in the Fincantieri Italian shipyards starting from 2018, ensuring several years of work and an important impact on the main Italian defense companies.
