Esecutivi i contratti per la 7° e 8° unità, esercitata l’opzione per la 9° e la 10°
Trieste, 16 dicembre 2017 – A valle dell’accordo firmato lo scorso aprile tra Fincantieri e Viking Ocean Cruises, sono diventati esecutivi i contratti per la costruzione della 7° e 8° unità e, al contempo, la società ha esercitato l’opzione per la 9° e la 10° nave.
Le nuove navi saranno gemelle di quelle già ordinate, 4 delle quali sono già state consegnate e operate con successo dalla compagnia. Si tratta di unità dalla stazza lorda di circa 47.800 tonnellate, che ospitano a bordo 930 passeggeri in 465 cabine, tutte con veranda, costruite secondo le più recenti normative in tema di navigazione e dotate dei più moderni sistemi di sicurezza, compreso il “Safe return to port”.
La prima della serie, “Viking Star”, realizzata nel cantiere di Marghera, ha preso il mare nel marzo 2015, la seconda, la terza e la quarta, “Viking Sea”, “Viking Sky”, “Viking Sun” costruite dal cantiere di Ancona, sono state consegnate rispettivamente nel marzo 2016, gennaio 2017 e settembre 2017. Le ulteriori 6 gemelle, incluse quelle relative all’opzione esercitata, verranno consegnate nel 2018, 2019, 2021, due nel 2022 e 2023.

FINCANTIERI AND VIKING OCEAN CRUISES STRENGTHEN THEIR PARTNERSHIP
Contracts for the 7th and 8th ships effective, options for 9th and 10th ships exercised
Trieste, December 16, 2017 – Following the agreement signed last April between Fincantieri and Viking Ocean Cruises, the contracts for the construction of the 7th and 8th ships have become effective and, furthermore, the company has exercised the option for the 9th and the 10th unit.
The new units will be sister ships of the ones already ordered, 4 of which have been delivered and currently operate successfully in the company’s fleet. The ships have a gross tonnage of 47,800 tons and accommodate 930 guests in 465 all-veranda cabins, built according to the latest navigation regulations and equipped with the most modern safety systems, including the “Safe return to port” system.
The first of the series, “Viking Star”, built at the shipyard in Marghera, took to sea in March 2015; the second, the third, and the fourth, “Viking Sea”, “Viking Sky” and “Viking Sun”, built at the shipyard in Ancona, were delivered respectively in March 2016, January and September 2017. The other 6 sister ships, including those related to the exercised option, will be delivered in 2018, 2019, 2021, two in 2022 and 2023.
