MSC CROCIERE ENTRA NEL SEGMENTO EXTRA-LUSSO ORDINANDO A FINCANTIERI 4 ULTERIORI NAVI

  La prima entrerà in servizio nella primavera del 2023. Si tratta di una nuova generazione di navi altamente innovative.

Ginevra/Trieste, 18 ottobre 2018- MSC Crociere e Fincantieri hanno annunciato oggi la firma di un memorandum d’intesa per la costruzione di quattro navi da crociera del segmento extra-lusso, per un valore complessivo superiore a 2 miliardi di euro.

Le navi avranno una stazza lorda di circa 64.000 tonnellate e saranno dotate di 500 cabine. La prima nave verrà consegnata nella primavera del 2023, le altre entreranno in servizio una all’anno nei successivi tre anni.

Le navi saranno dotate delle più recenti tecnologie per la tutela dell’ambiente e di altre soluzioni marittime di prossima generazione. Saranno caratterizzate, inoltre, da un design altamente innovativo e introdurranno soluzioni all’avanguardia per il comfort e il relax degli ospiti.

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman di MSC Crociere, ha dichiarato: “I nostri clienti ci hanno chiesto di entrare nel segmento extra-lusso sulla scia del grande successo e come evoluzione naturale del nostro MSC Yacht Club, un’area di lusso concepita come nave-nella-nave. Le nuovi navi offriranno itinerari unici grazie alle loro dimensioni e il livello di servizio alla clientela verrà portato a un livello ulteriore che comprende il maggiordomo personale MSC Yacht Club, disponibile 24 ore su 24, sette giorni su sette”.

Vago ha aggiunto: “Sono particolarmente lieto di poter estendere ulteriormente la nostra partnership con Fincantieri grazie a questo nuovo ordine. Le pluripremiate navi della classe Seaside e Seaside-Evo sono già state riconosciute per il loro design innovativo e rivoluzionario. Stiamo introducendo un’altra nuova classe che stabilirà nuovi criteri del lusso in mare con navi che interpreteranno la qualità e gli standard più elevati associati al made in Italy”.

MSC Crociere è la più grande compagnia di crociere a capitale privato al mondo nonché il brand crocieristico leader in Europa, Sud America, Sud Africa e nell’area del Golfo. Quest’ordine porta a otto le navi di MSC Crociere che saranno costruite in Italia con Fincantieri. Fincantieri è uno dei più importanti complessi cantieristici al mondo e il primo per diversificazione e innovazione. Con l’aggiunta di queste quattro nuove navi, l’ambizioso piano di investimenti di MSC Crociere, che non ha paragoni nel settore, prevede ora la costruzione di 17 navi entro il 2027, con un investimento complessivo pari a circa 13,6 miliardi di euro. Da giugno 2017 sono entrate in servizio già tre navi: MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seaside e MSC Seaview. Altri due – MSC Bellissima e MSC Grandiosa – saranno consegnate rispettivamente a febbraio e ottobre 2019. Tutte e cinque le navi saranno caratterizzate dal concept di lusso di MSC Crociere di nave all’interno della nave , ovvero l’esclusivo MSC Yacht Club di nuova generazione.

MSC CRUISES ENTERS ULTRA-LUXURY SEGMENT BY PLACING ORDER FOR FOUR MORE SHIPS FROM FINCANTIERI

The first of this highly-innovative new generation of ships will come into service in Spring 2023

Geneva/Trieste, October 18, 2018 – MSC Cruises and Fincantieri today announced the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the construction of four ultra-luxury cruise ships for a total value in excess of EUR 2 billion.

The ships, the first of which will be delivered in Spring 2023, will have gross tonnage of approx. 64,000 GRT and feature 500 cabins. The remaining three ships will come into service one per year over the following three years.

The ships will feature, amongst other, the best and latest environmental technology and other cutting-edge maritime solutions at sea. They will also showcase highly-innovative design as well as introduce ground-breaking options for guest comfort and relax.

Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ Executive Chairman, said: “It is off the back of the great success of our ship-within-a-ship luxury concept that our guests asked us to enter into the ultra-luxury segment, as a natural evolution of the MSC Yacht Club.
